Generations Touring Company

Sage Responsibilities

Our SAGES are more than just guides, teachers and friends. They are responsible for attending to the unique requirements of our intergenerational travelers including:

l

Leading our groups through GTC’s Global Awareness Program

l

Sharing insights into different cultures and relationships

l

Creating opportunities for family members to connect

l

Coordinating cultural interactions with groups in our destinations

l

Mentoring those who need assistance

Your Background
Qualifications to lead these tours are what you might expect of a teacher. You must have a background in teaching or a similar position that included responsibility for managing children (age ranges 8-12, and 13-17). An obvious rapport with people must be apparent. Our SAGES must be able to think on their feet. It is essential to adapt to the unpredictable nature and sometimes changing circumstances while traveling. SAGES must be capable to develop and present a global awareness curriculum that educates travelers about the economic, cultural, political, social and environmental systems in our tour destination.

Our Recruitment Process
Upon receipt of your application, a systematic review will determine if there is a match between your background, talents, interests and the tours we have scheduled. If a match exists, you'll be required to fill out a survey providing us with the information necessary to conduct a thorough background-check. Personal references are mandatory. An individual interview will be arranged once the preliminary recruitment phases are approved. We expect to assign our tours 6-9 months in advance of departure dates and commit to our travelers 60 days prior to departure.
