After breakfast, get ready for a full day of riding the Tube, a “flight” on the London Eye, touring Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and a river cruise on the Thames.  Enjoy some time off the tourist path at a special children’s museum. Dinner is on your own tonight.  Take the time to rest and recharge or see a show in London’s world class theatres. B

Day Three – Stonehenge and the Magna Carta
After breakfast, head out of town to see Stonehenge, the Neolithic monument dating back to 2500 BC.  Continue to the Salisbury Cathedral, proud owner of the tallest church spire in the UK as well as one of the few remaining original copies of the Magna Carta. Return to London in the late afternoon for another evening of free time to pursue individual interests. B

Day Four – Oxford and Shakespeare’s Stratford
Depart London on a private motorcoach for the journey to Oxford, home to England’s most well known and aristocratic colleges within Oxford University.  Christ Church College was the setting for the literary classics Brideshead Revisited and Lewis Carroll’s Alices Adventures in Wonderland.  Most recently it was used to film parts of the popular Harry Potter series.  From there head to Stratford Upon Avon to see William Shakespeare’s birthplace and his wife, Anne Hathaway’s cottage.  Rest tonight in the city of Coventry.  B,D

Day Five – Victorians and Vikings
Continue the northbound quest to York, rich in Roman and Viking history.  The York Castle Museum with its vast collections that bring Victorian social, military and costume artifacts to life.  From there, head to the Jorvik Viking Centre where you might come face to face with a Viking in one of the reconstructed streets of the times. B

Day Six – Wallace and Grommit and a Great Wall
Depart for Edinburgh today, stopping at the Wensleydale Cheese Creamery, mentioned in A Grand Day Out, a Wallace and Grommit animated short that saved the Creamery from closure.  Next, head west to the Birdoswald Roman Fort on Hadrian’s Wall.  Built by the Roman’s around 130 AD to protect Britain from invading Scottish tribes, this turf and stone fortification was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987.
