Renew, Rebuild and Reconnect
New Orleans Volunteer Vacation

New Orleans holds a unique place in America’s Costa Rica Adventure Travelhistory.  This gumbo pot has been a critical shipping port for many Midwestern farmers, the birthplace of American Jazz as well as a hub of Caribbean, French and Spanish influences.

Devastated by Hurricane Katrina, the community that has given so much now needs our help.  Come help with the clean-up on a safe, no-hassle itinerary that offers convenience, free time to reconnect with this community or discover its unique character for the first time

We will be partaking in a needed volunteer activity that can range from picking up garbage in a neighborhood (e.g. Katrina Krewe), to preparing meals for other volunteer workers (e.g. Made with Love Café and Grill). Enjoy a brown bag lunch prepared by the hotel and a couple hours of rest this afternoon. Look forward to a New Orleans dinner this evening. BLD

DAY 4— MORE COMMUNITY SERVICE. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for another day of service in the New Orleans community. Enjoy the feeling of contributing to a community that has provided so much for so many. Brown bag your lunch again and enjoy free time in the afternoon and evening tonight. BL

DAY 5 — EXPLORE NEW ORLEANS. After breakfast at the hotel, take the morning to relax at Café Du Monde with a beignet. We will tour the “Sliver by the River” and note the amazing work Tulane and the Audubon Society has accomplished with their communities.  Lunch will be in the Uptown area or on campus. The rest of the day is free to explore Audubon Park, take a short river cruise or wander among the reopening shops in the French Quarter. BL
