DAY 1 WELCOME TO NEW ORLEANS! Arrive in the Crescent City. Transfer on own and check-in at your hotel. At the welcome dinner tonight, your host introduces you to your fellow guests and outlines the exciting details of the next six days. D
DAY 2 NEW ORLEANS TOUR AND VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION. After breakfast, the day begins with a tour of New Orleans and neighboring St. Bernard Parish. See the devastation first hand and learn about the recovery process to date. Learn more about the volunteer activities during a late morning briefing. After lunch at local favorite, take in some afternoon sightseeing or rest this afternoon. Enjoy a French Quarter dinner followed by an optional trip to Preservation Hall or an early evening in preparation for tomorrow’s work day. BLD
DAY 3 VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our volunteer assignment in the New Orleans community. We will be partaking in a needed volunteer activity that can range from picking up garbage in a neighborhood (e.g. Katrina Krewe), to preparing meals for other volunteer workers (e.g. Made with Love Café and Grill). Enjoy a brown bag lunch prepared by the hotel and a couple hours of rest this afternoon. Look forward to a New Orleans dinner this evening. BLD
DAY 4 MORE COMMUNITY SERVICE. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for another day of service in the New Orleans community. Enjoy the feeling of contributing to a community that has provided so much for so many. Brown bag your lunch again and enjoy free time in the afternoon and evening tonight. BL
DAY 5 EXPLORE NEW ORLEANS. After breakfast at the hotel, take the morning to relax at Café Du Monde with a beignet. We will tour the “Sliver by the River” and note the amazing work Tulane and the Audubon Society has accomplished with their communities. Lunch will be in the Uptown area or on campus. The rest of the day is free to explore Audubon Park, take a short river cruise or wander among the reopening shops in the French Quarter. BL
DAY 6 FAREWELL! Meet for a farewell breakfast and transfer on your own back to the airport. Thank you for making a difference in New Orleans. B
