DAY 1 — WELCOME TO COSTA RICA! Arrive San José, transfer to your hotel. Welcome dinner at hotel where your guide introduces you to incredible Costa Rica! D

DAY 2 — INBIOPARQUE / SAN JOSÉ. The day begins at the National Institute of Biodiversity’s INBioparque. Save, know and Use are the main topics of discussion at the Institute, an educational and recreational center. Visitors experience biological diversity found only in Costa Rica. Dine at the Café Britt plantation, home of the first gourmet coffee roaster in Costa Rica. Learn the cultural significance of coffee to the economy and population. B,L,D

DAY 3 — SAN JOSÉ / TORTUGUERO. Journey by motor coach through mountainous Braulio Carrillo National Park and along the banana plantations of the Atlantic lowlands. Travel to Tortuguero in a covered boat that provides plenty of time to view a variety of wildlife along the way. B,L,D

DAY 4 — TORTUGUERO. Your naturalist guide leads a bird-watching walk. Tortuguero Rainforest, a major nesting beach for the Atlanticgreen sea turtle*, is also home to exotic and endangered species. A boat takes you to Caño Palma for an adventure in a fantasy flooded forest. This evening take a guided walk on the Tortuguero Beach in search of sea turtles. B,L,D

DAY 5 — TORTUGUERO / FORTUNA / ARENAL. Fly from Tortuguero enroute to Arenal. Enjoy a short lecture about volcanos and take a leisurely hike into Arenal Volcano National Park. We end our day at Ecotermales Fortuna farm and Hot Springs. Dine with your lovely hosts, the Hidalgo Family. B,L,D

DAY 6 — ARENAL / MONTEVERDE. Drive to Arenal Lake and transfer to a boat. Arrive in Rio Chiquito where 4x4 vehicles await to drive you to Monteverde, home of the Cloud Forest Reserve. Your children can also visit the Frog Pond. Tonight we have a special surprise. B,L,D

DAY 7 — MONTEVERDE. Visit the Cerro Plano School. Meet and interact with children from Monteverde to learn about the Costa Rican way of life. Take a short hike through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve in the afternoon and see exotic frogs enroute to your hotel. B,L,D

Monteverde Butterfly FarmDAY 8 — MONTEVERDE / SAN JOSÉ. Visit the Monteverde Butterfly Farm where 50 species are raised by hand. The mission of the Monteverde Butterfly Farm is environmental protection and preservation. Kids can elect to take a canopy tour.  Visit an aritisans cooperative in Sarchi enroute to San José for a farewell dinner. B,L,D

DAY 9 — FAREWELL! Adios y gracias for visiting Costa Rica with us. Pura Vida!
